Sometimes we walk along, and our foot catches against the ground, causing us to trip and stumble. As we continue, we look back and see NOTHING where there should have been a HUGE obstacle. There are things in life that we don’t always see that trip us up called patterns. They exist, sometimes without us realizing it and they cripple us for our entire life.

God’s Approach To Breaking Our Patterns

God does things in patterns, and he has reasons for doing so. He will ask us a question (on the inside) to direct us to areas that need to change. He will ask questions that appear to have an obvious answer. The reason he does that is because our actions and words don’t align. If our actions were aligned, he wouldn’t have to ask the question.

Bad Patterns

In John 5:1-14, a crippled man had been lying by a pool for 38 years. He needed healing. An angel of healing came and touched the waters of the pool once a year and in order to get healed the man had to get into the pool. He was full of excuses about why he couldn’t get into the pool. He had 364 days on 38 different occasions to come up with a plan and to start preparing to get into the pool on that one day. But instead aligning his actions with his desires, he made a bed in his current situation and got
comfortable.

Be Encouraged!

Lord, I decree and declare that we are breaking patterns today. We are obedient to the areas of change needed in our lives. We are going to remove the comforts that keep us in a place of complacency. We are taking ACTION to align our actions with our words so that you can move us forward. Amen!
