When God changes us, nothing happens on the outside, but something happens on the inside. We need to KNOW that the Lord loves us not based on what we do but based on what HE did. We need to stop and celebrate where we are right now and focus on the small victories.

I Don’t Base My Qualifications On Whether Or Not I’m Doing A Good Job

If I based how good of a job I think I’m doing on the congregations’ reactions to me, I would often be dissatisfied. But I don’t pastor so that I can get the approval of people. I do it in obedience to God and so that he can speak through me. I am the righteousness (made right) of Christ, and it is based on his performance, not my own.

Don’t Be Held Captive To A Debt That’s Been Paid

Don’t allow sin to hold you captive and to make you think that God doesn’t love you. All past, present and future sin is forgiven by God when you ask for it. It was paid by Christ’s death on the cross. Stop pulling stuff from the past, out of the trash can, and into the present. God threw your sin as far as the east is from the west. Think better about you so that you can feel better about you. God forgave you; now you need to forgive you also.

Be Encouraged!

Lord, I pray that each person here today is SO SURE of your love for them that the next time they do wrong, they will run TO YOU instead of from you. They will ask your forgiveness and for you to make them whole. Then they will try to do better and in that effort, they will! And the next time they mess up, they will turn it around even quicker and admit it, quit it and forget it! Amen!
