Many people think that we have to get cleaned up before we can come to Jesus. Jesus never said that. If we get it together before we come to Jesus it is like fixing our car before we take it to a mechanic. It’s like washing our car before we take it to a car wash. It’s like waiting to go see a doctor until we are no longer sick. It makes NO SENSE.

Jesus Wants Us To Come As We Are Right Now

If we wait until we get it together to invite Jesus into our life then, it will never happen. If we wait until we have it together to tell someone about Jesus then, it will never happen. The church is not for the sinless. Those don’t exist. The photos of the perfect-looking people on the magazines are edited with software to create an illusion. The idea that the church is for perfect people is a lie because those don’t exist. Jesus is the ONLY perfect person who has ever walked the earth. God’s family is full of sinners that are saved by grace. We ALL fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).

Jesus Qualifies Us

We cannot wait to fulfill our purpose in God until we FEEL QUALIFIED. God just needs us to be willing; he will qualify us. He has placed within us everything we need to fulfill his purpose for our life. He just needs us to let it out. We are the only ones who limit ourselves. No one can stop us except us.

We Catch Them, Jesus Cleans Them

People receive Jesus not by preaching, but by the love of God. The reason we can come to him in our messed up state is because he cleans us from the inside out. The initial change is our inner me. We may not change much on the outside, but slowly his love will start molding us. He will change our thinking and that changes our behavior. It’s a slow process that is different for every person.

Join Me

I’d like to encourage you to trust Jesus with your life today. As you seek him, he will draw near to you. As your time with him unfolds, tell someone else what you are experiencing by knowing Jesus. Then let Jesus do the rest.
