Why Do We Like To Push Other People’s Hot Buttons?

We all like to hit buttons, and I don’t mean the ones on the elevator. We like to hit the hot button; that button that is the key to getting on someone else’s nerves. Pride causes us to keep doing that thing that annoys someone else. We get out of love and into contention with others. Pride keeps us from saying I’m sorry, and I was wrong. We need to UNWIRE THE HOT BUTTON. It’s time to stop allowing pride to rule over and ruin our lives.

Drop It

We can’t seem to let our pride go; we just can’t drop it. We need to realize that we’ve been given loads of grace, so we need to give it to others. We need to decide that we are NOT going to push others’ buttons. We all have a deep-seated issue of pride. Our main struggle is pride.

Do Unto Others As God Has Done For Us

There is a reason the bible verse says, long-suffering that means suffering a long time. We need to get over our pride and give to others what God has given to us. We can start with the following:

Love suffers long and is kind;
love does not envy;
love does not parade itself,
is not puffed up;
does not behave rudely,
does not seek its own,
is not provoked,
thinks no evil;
does not rejoice in iniquity,
but rejoices in the truth;
bears all things,
believes all things,
hopes all things,
endures all things. (1 Corinthians 13:4-7)
