In the Garden, Adam and Eve had big hearts, there were no walls, and everything was great. That was God. Then the devil started building a wall by introducing doubt into Eve’s mind about God’s words. The enemy planted thoughts and then Eve sinned when she was alone. It is when people are alone that they slip back into drinking, doing drugs or watching porn, and that is why the enemy fights to get us alone. Life is too short to sit alone listening to the devil.

Get To Know People And Stop Reinforcing Walls

As we sit alone, each time we are judgmental, we reinforce a wall. We put mortar on the wall and begin adding the next row of bricks. We need to realize that this is happening and knock that wall down before it dries. We need to get to know people over time and allow them to get to know us.
Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit (Proverbs 18:21) and the fruit of the Spirit is love (Galatians 5:22-23) and love is kind, is not puffed up, is not provoked and believes all things. (1 Corinthians 13:4-7)

Choose Healing

I believe in therapists, medicine, and doctors, but we cannot medicate our way out. God can heal our heart because he created it. We have to pray our way through. I heard once that the first person to apologize is the bravest. The first person to forgive is the strongest and the first person to forget is the happiest. God has a call on your life. Don’t allow the enemy of your soul to hold you back another day.

Be Encouraged

Dear Heavenly Father, I need you to help me identify where I’m stonewalling you. I need you to show me where I’m building blocks of resentment and animosity that are holding me back. I receive your love and I forgive others. I give you permission to tear down the walls and heal my heart so that I can help other people. In your name, Amen.
