Pride, The Hot Button And The Blessing Blocker

We go on a trip, and we look at the group photo. Who do we look for first? Ourselves! That’s pride.
How many of us reserve the right to approve any photo before it gets posted on social media? That’s PRIDE!

God Jacked Me Up!

If we think that God has jacked us up then that’s pride. If we think that we fell out of the ugly tree and hit every ugly stick on the way down, who are we to question God and say that he is wrong? God has a purpose and plan for every creation in existence. Nothing takes him by surprise. So why do we question? Pride. We think we know better than God.

Three Things To Remember

1. God hates pride, so we should too. (Proverbs 6:16-19) If we think about it, we hate it when we are around arrogant people who are puffed up with pride, so let’s not do it ourselves.

2. When we are in an argument, we need to cut the cord to our Hot button. We have nothing to prove while insecurity ALWAYS has something to prove!

3. Pride is a blessing blocker. God will destroy the prideful, and he wants to bless and honor the humble (Proverbs 11:2, 16:18, James 4:10). So let’s shed the coat of pride and put on humility today!

Let’s Pray Together:

Dear Lord, I’m going to learn to say I was wrong, I’m sorry, and forgive me. When I learn this, I will diffuse tension and will no longer take the dog by the ears (Proverbs 26:17). I decree and declare that I will push pride out and invite humility into our life. The devil will come to steal the word, and I know he will test me today. I can do all things in your strength, Lord. Amen!
