Have you ever listened to a halfhearted teacher? Some speakers talk about a subject in such a bland manner that you wonder if they even like the topic. Our enthusiasm shows our interest. Our passion shows how important something is to us. How can others be interested in what matters to us if we aren’t passionate about it ourselves? We serve a spirited God who has a fire for us, and he wants us to return that fire.

God Wants Me To Step It Up

God has told me that he wants me to be more passionate – – in my sermon preparation, in my preaching, he wants me to fast more, to jump a little higher, and get excited! Have you ever liked someone more than they like you? No one is interested in a lukewarm reception. He wants you to get passionate too.

Your Passion For Including God

God wants to see you with such a fire for him that you can’t wait to spend time with him each morning. (Did you thank him for that sunrise?) He wants you to go about your day energetic and with a fervency to live his word. (Do you obey him when he tells you to pick up that piece of trash? Or to open that door for that person?) He wants to be included in your decisions, and he wants to hear about everything for the good and the bad.

Be Encouraged

We serve a personal God who wants a passionate relationship with you. He wants you to talk to him, and he wants to respond, but give God lukewarm attention, and he will be lukewarm with you. He loves you dearly, and he wants to be a part of your everyday. He doesn’t want to be confined to Sunday morning for an hour or two. He is starved by the halfhearted prayer a few times a week. He wants passionate in depth conversations with you every day. I encourage you to begin today. I call you blessed! Amen.
