Conflict can arise from grumbling. If we talk about someone in a positive way and it gets back to them, the situation improves. If we say negative things, the situation gets worse. The Bible reads, when I became a man, I put away childish things (1 Corinthians 13:11) As adults we need to speak positively about others and not give in to childhood drama.

Consistency

Instead of hot air, we need to be full of the Holy Spirit. Cool air contracts, hot air expands, but helium is consistent. Like helium, if we will fill ourselves with the Holy Spirit, his thinking will strengthen us and help us to stay above the everyday drama around us. If things are heavy and blowing up, know that this is your year of emotional stability.

We Are Not Reactive, But Proactive

God knows everything that is going to happen in and around us. If we will listen and allow ourselves to be controlled by the Holy Spirit, the pity parties will stop. If we are Spirit-led, instead of doing what we feel like doing, we will allow discipline to reign in our life. If we are Spirit-led, our day will be determined by what we read in God’s word instead of by how others react or what they say.

Say This With Me:

God is working behind the scenes right now on my behalf. Without faith, I cannot please him (Hebrews 11:6). When a man’s ways please the Lord even his enemies are at peace with him (Proverbs 16:7). I am God-focused and not focused on pleasing man or getting caught up in drama that surrounds me. I renew my mind and thinking by reading God’s word daily. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that God is in control. Amen!
