One of the best ways to encourage people is to learn from the people who encourage you
I have uplifting people in my life like Brett Jones, pastor of Grace Church in Houston, Texas. Whenever I ever get down and need encouragement I call him up. I don’t tell him I’m down, I just call him. He is a natural when it comes to encouraging me.
After I get off the phone with him I go and try to do for others what Brett has done for me. In Luke 6:31, it says “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” I try to go around and encourage everyone I come into contact with.
Try pointing out the qualities that people have, instead of pointing out the areas where they need improvement.
In Ephesians 4:29, the bible says, “Watch the way you talk….Say ONLY what helps, each word a gift.”
I encourage you today to think about the person who encourages you the most. Start using that same technique on the people around you who need encouragement.
Remember, the people who appear to need encouragement the LEAST, might just need it the MOST.
