From the moment we wake up, the enemy sets us up for an upset by using whatever weapon he has available (people, situations, etc). He causes situations, problems, and obstacles to come against us all at once. This is spiritual warfare, that’s why the bible says that we shouldn’t be surprised when we have all kinds of temptations.
“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds.” 2 Corinthians 10:4
The enemy will use many tricks to get us discouraged and to keep us in bondage. The battleground is in our mind. So our goal should be to keep our thoughts in check.
Casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:5
If you take your thoughts into captivity, you are taking control of them and choosing what you think about. A passive mind that wanders, might wander down a dark alley. We must direct it.
We must THINK about what we think about. Our mind is where the enemy begins his foothold in our life. Do we have worry or fear?
For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline. 2 Timothy 1:7
God’s Word is our BEST WEAPON against the enemy. That’s why in Ephesians 6:13 it says to “put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.”
Here is your equipment list. Learn it. Use it. Wear it daily. And most of all STAND FIRM!
− Belt of Truth
− Body Armor of God’s righteousness
− Shoes of Peace
− Shield of Faith
− Helmet of Salvation
− Sword of the Spirit (Word of God)
− Pray, stay alert and be vigilant. Ephesians 6:14-18
