Where Is Your Tongue Taking You?
When we drive a car and look off to the side, the car tends to steer in the direction that we look. Our hands follow our eyes because it is what we see that determines where we choose to go. (That’s the problem with wandering eyes – but that’s another blog.) If our life follows our tongue, then the words we speak determine the direction our life goes.

Do we REALLY want to be like everyone else?

Everything we say says something about us. We tend to say what everybody else says which means we will have what everyone else has. Do we really want debt, depression, stress, and poverty? NO! We also can’t just say what we feel, we have to say WHAT WE WANT TO BECOME! We want prosperity, joy, peace and FREEDOM.

We trap ourselves with our words.

I mentioned freedom. The Bible says, “We are snared by the words of our mouth…” (Proverbs 6:3) We limit ourselves, what we can accomplish, and what God can do in it simply by what we say.

Success can be found in our daily habits.

The Greek philosopher Aristotle said, “We are what we repeatedly do.”

The bible says, “A good man eats good from the fruit of his mouth…” (Proverbs 13:2)

It is not what we do EVERY ONCE IN AWHILE it is what we do ALL THE TIME. Our tongue steers our life. In James 3:3, the Bible says we can steer a large horse by a small bit in its mouth, and a small rudder can turn a huge ship. If that’s the case, what can our tongue do to our life?

See it! Say it! Seize it!

“Truly I tell you, whoever SAYS to this mountain, be lifted up and thrown into the sea… and does not doubt, but believes that what he SAYS [not what he THINKS] will take place, it will be done for him.” (Mark 11:23)

Control your tongue and you control your life!

Let’s make it a habit to think about what we’re saying and direct our words to reflect who we want to be, and the direction we want our lives to go. Let’s stop agreeing with our circumstances or agreeing with the naysayers, and let’s be positive. It’s the most cost-effective way to improve our lives within minutes, just through our words. Nothing is stopping you from starting NOW!
