Do you ever wonder if everyone else is showing us their highlight reel while we live our life real and unedited? Just the thought makes ME feel inadequate. We sit in our homes and compare ourselves to THEIR highlight reel. That’s not fair. We have to stop falling for that lie. WE have a life to build. God created us, but we get to choose our own path!
We are architects of our own life.
We have one life to build. Like most construction projects, every trial appears to be a setback when it is actually a setup for a comeback. We can turn our obstacles from tombstones to stepping stones. The problem is that we allow it to be ok to be ok and mediocrity metastasizes in our life. Our thinking begins with our words. Our words set the foundation for our life. Are we creating a weak or strong foundation?
We need to clearly spell out the blueprint for our life.
Getting clarity of vision helps define our priorities. Things happen that try to make us break our rhythm, but we press through by holding onto the vision God has placed inside of us. Since the shortest pencil is better than the longest memory, we need to write it down. The Bible says “Write down the vision and make it plain so that all can run with it.” (Habakkuk 2:2) This keeps the vision clear. It reduces duplicity of thinking and helps us stay on track with our blueprint.
Following the blueprint requires clear, decisive thinking.
“But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.” (James 1:6)
The following is double-minded thinking:
– I want to lose weight.
– I don’t.
– I want to start the business.
– I don’t.
– I want to be married.
– I don’t.
“For let not that person expect to receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.” (James 1:7-8)
Are our words getting us closer to or further from the goal?
We need to decide that we will NOT be limited by the resources we currently have. We have to see it in our mind’s eye, say it with our tongue, and seize it in our future. As I consider the words I want to say, I consider what I would do if I had no limitations, only had 5 years to live and if I had unlimited resources. Try using that as your example.
If we change our words, we change the direction of our life.
I’d like to encourage you today to step out and ask God for more than you can ever imagine. Ephesians 3:20 says God can do SO MUCH MORE than we can ask or think. This is no holds barred because we can’t even begin to get close to using up God’s resources. In fact, I bet He’d like to see exactly how creative you can get!!!
Ask God for more than you can imagine in ALL AREAS OF YOUR LIFE TODAY!
