Sometimes we go through the wrong door in life and feel cheated or betrayed. We feel hurt because our significant other has left us because that wasn’t our door. Or if they hadn’t lied and cheated on us the marriage would be successful. We wonder why the business isn’t successful by now. Or it seems that if someone hadn’t stolen all of our clients the business would be have made it. These are doors that will hold us back, but God has a door of opportunity here today. Are you open to that possibility?
Every Door isn’t that BIG thing God has for us.
Revelation 3:20 says, “Behold I stand at the door and knock.” God always has new doors of opportunity that He wants us to walk through. The doors He presents are often bigger than we ever thought possible. And sometimes a door doesn’t open because God knows there is something bigger that He wants to do in our life.
If WE can do it, it’s likely the wrong door. Don’t settle.
We have a habit of limiting God because we think, “Oh, I could do this.” Or, “I could do that.” And God’s saying, “Wait a minute you need My help. This might look insurmountable but, with Me all things are possible. I want to do something EXTRAORDINARY, not ordinary, in your life.” We need to expand our territory and our faith in order to believe that. We need to be okay with the disappointment that a certain door didn’t open. We need to turn to God and stay focused on the fact that He has something greater for us in the future.
THINK BIG! God wants the glory because HE made it happen FOR you.
I have faced many doors. There have been doors that I thought I should walk through because I sized them up and they seemed like something that I could handle. I was thinking SMALL!!! I wasn’t thinking in the reality of Philippians 4:19, “My God shall supply all of my needs according to His riches and glory by Christ Jesus.” I was thinking about what I was capable of doing. If WE can make it happen, then God doesn’t get the glory. God likes to do impossible things. He loves to do things that cause us to say “Thank You, Jesus. Without You, we would have never made it.”
Don’t curse the closed door, celebrate it and look forward to the next open door!
I looked at what God could do. And I looked at what I could do. Then I chose to say no to what I thought I could do. God doesn’t want us to settle. He wants us to move forward. He wants us to press forward to the prize and the mark of the high calling in God. So every closed door that looks like a disappointment shouldn’t be cursed. It should be CELEBRATED. As we are celebrating, we need to say, “Man, God must be getting ready to do something extraordinary in my life.” I want to encourage you today to expect something great for God and don’t settle for the door that you THINK you can handle. Choose the door that requires God’s assistance to pull it off then it’s going to be GREAT!!!
