We tend to believe that if we had more faith, if we had done better, if we had gotten saved sooner, if we had saved more money..then things would be better. NO! The Bible says if we have faith the size of a mustard seed, then we can move mountains! (SAY WHAT?! YES, IT’S TRUE!) If you have received Jesus, you AT LEAST have that grain-of-mustard-seed-sized-faith and it is enough to get started.
Is Your Faith About The Size Of A Pencil Tip? That’s OK!
In our performance-based society, it’s easy to believe that we need to DO MORE and BE MORE. We think we have to make it happen, we need to make more money, get more education, be good, have more faith and we will have a good life. In Matthew 17:20, the Bible says, “If you have faith the size of a mustard seed…” A mustard seed is about 1/20th of an inch in size which is probably smaller than the tip of a pencil. If you have THAT much faith, you can do great things. Instead of performance, we need belief because Mark 11:23-24 (paraphrased) tells us not to doubt, but to believe what we say and we will have those things.
I Believe That God Can Turn The Largest Bar In The State Of Missouri Into A Church!
I believe that God can do anything. I believe that God can build a church in what is likely one of the top 10 biggest bars in the free world. God can put a pastor there that can relate to the people who used to go to the bar. And He did. So we don’t even have to give directions because some of our congregation has been here before!
Faith Heads For The Promise, While Fear Distracts Us
God wants to use our life for the good. For far too long we have allowed problems to set us back instead of pushing us forward. Faith heads towards the promise. Fear distracts and detours us in the opposite direction. Fear is the opposite of faith.
Faith Church Serves A Hard Core, Powerful, Loving God. He Is Not A Wimp.
If you come to Faith Church, or listen to or read messages from Faith Church, you’ll see that we don’t serve a wimpy, emaciated God. We serve an awesome God who says:
“Walk by faith and not by sight.” (2 Corinthians 5:7)
“Do not lean on your own understanding.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you HOPE and a FUTURE.” Jeremiah 29:11
“..he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion..” Philippians 1:6
Will you bring your mustard seed of faith to the table and let God show you how he can grow it into something fantastic? He’s waiting just for YOU!
