A fish will not succeed outside of water. A human will not succeed IN the water – – long term. A human diving off of a building will fail – – without a parachute. A bird diving off of a building will coast down in circles until it reaches the next destination. Just because we CAN do something, doesn’t mean it comes naturally or is our core strength.
Are We Denying God The Gift Of Watching The Growth Of Our Gift Or Talent?
Often we get caught up trying to be or do what others do because it’s cool or gets us approval or attention. But the approval that matters is from God. It is sad to deny Him the joy of watching the seed grow that He planted inside of each of us. We are more effective and fruitful when we stay within our own God-given core strengths.
Trying To Be What We Are Not
We need to stop being man-ipulated by the pressure of what others want us to be. Many people fail to be all that God intended them to be because they are looking at the peeling of the apple and not at their core purpose. I’m talking about what they see in the mirror and how they are comparing themselves to others personally and professionally. We must find that seed deep down that brings the most harvest. God will create the overflowing abundance. We just have to allow the seed to grow by not denying it.
Trying To Be What We Are Not
To be successful we must stay true to our purpose or brand. If we go to Kentucky fried chicken their slogan is we do chicken right… In other words if you want sushi don’t come up in here. When we try to turn ourselves into things that we were never created to be, we are ineffective because the core and the seed to reproduce that thing are not there.
Stay True To What God Has Placed In Your Heart
We shouldn’t apply for jobs that don’t pique our interest, meaning don’t JUST do it for the money. And we shouldn’t enter into intimate relationships that “look” good to society, but don’t align with our values and what God has placed in our heart. Stay sensitive to what God’s whispers. Take some time to examine your choices and see if they align more with the world and the pressures around you or with what God has placed in your heart.
We all have room for improvement. Fortunately nothing we do takes God by surprise and He works all things out for our good and His glory! (Romans 8:28)
