There are some motorcycles that don’t have fuel gauges, so if the rider doesn’t keep track they don’t know how much fuel they have and they may run out of gas. If we don’t keep track of our faith, if we don’t refuel and pump it up, we may run out when we need it the most.
“And they came to Jesus and awoke Him, saying, “Master, Master, we are perishing!” Then He arose and rebuked the wind… But He said to them, “Where is your faith?” (Luke 8:24-25)
Where IS Your Faith?
That’s a great question. It’s kind of like asking, “Where are my car keys? I don’t know how to find them.” Sometimes we don’t know where our faith is, and it’s imperative to know where we are so that we can get to where we are going. It’s not just WHERE but how much do we have? We need to know our faith balance. Some people try to make a Mastercard purchase of $300 with an available credit limit of $250. Knowing our account balance is important. What is our faith account balance?
Sometimes We Get Knocked Down, And Our Faith Gets Weak
Sometimes our faith gets weak because we get knocked down. We use up our faith account balance. We need to realize where we are right now. If we realize that things have been a little tough, and we have been more self-sufficient than leaning on God, then we can do something about it. If we realize that we haven’t been reading God’s word or listening to spiritual teachings, then that is a starting point. In order to take action and refill out faith fuel tank, we need to be aware of our current faith-state.
God Didn’t Say We Need Faith, He Said, “Where Did You Put It?”
Begin to say, God I’m going to read your word, I’m going to read this blog, I’m going to pray, and all of a sudden your faith will get stronger. What is your account balance right now? Where is your faith level?
Choose to get pumped back up so that you can make that new purchase, get that job, or go back to school and get that education. Refuel so that your faith will endure for the marathon and not just a sprint. So I ask you, “Where is your faith???”
