Does It Feel Like Hammer-Time In Your Life?

Life is a series of hills and valleys. Oftentimes, we feel like God is bringing the hammer down on us. We beat ourselves down. We do the best we can until we can’t do anymore, and then we think we need to do more. We forget that Jesus makes up the difference. This behavior is self-defeating and distracts us.

Self-sabotage

We self-sabotage by allowing mind monsters in until they break us down, and we quit.
– The lawsuits are stacking up.
– There’s not enough money in the account.
– We’re not qualified.
– There’s a lot of competition and we think we’re average.

Don’t go on a witch-hunt. We have to keep moving in the strength that God gives us.

We Need To Read Things That Remind Us Of What We Are Doing Right!

One day my wife, Nicole was reading a book that was reminding her of all of the things she needed to change in her life. Because of her struggle on that particular day, I asked her to choose to read something like You Can You Will: 8 Undeniable Qualities of a Winner, by Joel Osteen. She was in a mood that had her very critical of herself. She needed something to remind her of everything she was doing right!

We Need To Embrace Where We Are On The Way To Where We Are Going

There is always room for improvement. We need to remember that while we may not be where we need to be; we aren’t where we were yesterday! We need to celebrate what we are instead of focusing on what we are not. We need to remember that everything good is God (James 1:17), and there is an enemy that wants to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10) our relationships, businesses, and progress. We need to stop our spiritual witch-hunts that focus on everything we are doing wrong.

Bring It!

I encourage you to outline what you bring to the table. Do you bring a smile? Are you organized? Are you friendly? Are you very methodical or creative? Do you like to build? Do you like to think outside the box? Do you relate to people? God has given each one of us something unique to bring to the table, identify that and put your focus there today!
