A friend of mine was very successful with his company and was very wealthy. He bought a very large home and had many toys and assets. It was very easy for him to find women who were interested in him, but it was hard for him to know who truly loved him apart from what he owned. He lost $800 million dollars in one day. He said that after that day, he knew who genuinely loved him.
Do We Really Love God? Can He Trust Us?
God wants to be first. Do we make him feel first in our life? He deserves it doesn’t he? Just as we wonder at times if others love us, God wants to know that we love him. He wants to know that we aren’t just sticking around for the blessings. He wants us to want to KNOW him; not just always want what he has to give.
Our Tithe Is One Way To Show God That We Believe He Owns Everything
By giving God the first tenth of our increase, we show him that we are in agreement that 100% of our increase was initially his and that he has given it to us to steward. We show him that he can trust us.
Spending Time With God Is Another Way To Show That We Want To Know Him
When we take a time to read his word each day, we are giving God a chance to speak to us. When we acknowledge him in all that we do as we walk through our day, we show God that he is truly our partner in life. Every time we include God, talk about God and lean on God, we are showing him that we want him.
