In a dark room, we often turn molehills into mountains. It can be easy to treat any sound as a monster or threat. Our imagination takes over and blows things out of proportion and our fear spikes. Then, when the light is flipped on, all of a sudden, everything is fine. Why is that? Our five senses can’t be trusted, they are too easily confused. We can’t go by what we feel. We have to trust God’s promises and his voice inside of us.

How Do I Know God’s Voice?

The more time we spend with someone, the more we recognize their voice, we know their intentions, we know their heart, and we get in sync with them. The more time we spend in God’s word, talking with God and being receptive to his voice, the more easily we recognize his whisper.

Life Is A Trail Of Obstacles To Be Overcome With Our Words

We are trapped by the words of our mouth (Proverbs 6:2) or we eat good by the fruit of our mouth (Proverbs 13:2). The trail of life is littered with problems, so while in the valley, we have to watch what we say.

God Can Be Trusted

God is not a man that he should lie (Numbers 23:19). I have never seen the righteous forsaken (Psalm 37:25). I will instruct you and teach you in the way that you should go (Psalm 32:8). You shall be blessed coming in and blessed going out (Deut 28:6). The Lord will bless your work and everything you touch (Deuteronomy 15:10). God has plans to bring you good and not evil so that you will have hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).

Be Encouraged!

Will you pray with me? Lord, I commit to stop making mountains out of molehills. If I do, I will walk by faith and not by sight. I will repeat YOUR words that you want good for me and not evil. I know I can trust you more than the circumstances that I see and the way I feel. I will choose your words over the words I feel like using. I love you, Lord!
