Most of us have had bottled water. Have you ever noticed that some bottles of water taste different than others? Half of them taste as if they have been treated with chemicals even though they say they are bottled from a spring. The best tasting water comes from a well. The most soul-quenching water comes from Jesus.

Jesus’ Water Is Like No Other

In John 4, Jesus talked to a Samaritan woman at a well. He told her that she had been looking for love in illicit relationships. Jesus sees that our society looks for love or fulfillment in a bottle, in a pill and in things. We try to get rid of our thirst artificially when it can only be satisfied by Jesus.
The one who believes in me, as the Scripture has said, will have rivers of living water flowing from his heart. (John 7:38)

God Is Thirsty Too

In John 4:7, Jesus asked for a drink of water. Why? Because God thirsts for our worship, and that wets his whistle. It creates an environment for him to enter and touch our hearts. God asks for the drink so that he can reciprocate.

Let’s Get Our Drink On!

Lord, if we aren’t getting this today, it’s possible that we are too dry. We are making the choice today to soak up your word until we are overflowing. We worship you; we praise you, and we thank you for your living water so that we will never thirst again. Amen!
