Driven is when we’re at work thinking we need to be home, and when we’re at home thinking we need to be at work. So we’re never really anywhere. We need to be motivated but not driven. If we’re driven, we’re saying things like, “Those kids drive me crazy.” Well, it wasn’t a very far drive, was it? We should not live our lives so close to the ragged edge that we’re saying, “That’s all I can take!” Being driven and out-of-control are not appealing characteristics.
The Out-Of-Control Version Of Us
We need to be cautious at all times because the devil is trying to steal, kill, and destroy our life (John 10:10). This results in a lot of people going home so that they can stop being nice. They say things such as, “I go home, so I can let my hair down and just be me.” Well, maybe the people at home want the saved, polished, public version of you that everyone else gets to see. There aren’t many people who like the out-of-control version of you, and if you stay on that track, you might end up at home alone.
Be Vigilant!
The Bible says at all times, in all situations, BE VIGILANT! (1 Peter 5:8). Your husband didn’t leave YOU; he left your attitude. Your wife didn’t leave YOU she left your attitude because you think you’re the boss of her. We cannot fix our spouse, but we are responsible for ourselves. Don’t allow the enemy to get a foothold to destroy your relationships.
Be Encouraged
Lord, I decree and declare that we are vigilant to give our best to our loved ones instead of just the leftovers. We are not so driven that we are driving away our loved ones. We let your love flow through us to those around us removing all footholds, attitudes and prideful mindsets that the enemy uses against us. We humble ourselves before you and with our spouses and families. We love you, Lord. In your precious name, Amen!
