One day I was traveling and received a call that a portion of our church roof had fallen in. The enemy tried to break us down right before we broke through; and he wanted to disconnect us from our courage.
The roof collapse was a champagne problem. After that, we made the church so beautiful, that another church bought it and enabled us to be in the church we are in today. The following are some ways we can set the environment for God to speak to our courage.
1. Read The Bible
The Bible uses the word Therefore many times. We need to find out what it’s THERE FOR and we do that by reading the Bible. It reads this happened, therefore, that happened. For example, therefore, since through God’s mercy, we have this ministry, we do not lose heart (2 Corinthians 4:1). Read, learn, apply. God is merciful to provide opportunities (problems in work clothes), and we do not lose heart.
2. Redirect Your Energy
Instead of saying worry less, maybe we should say, choose cheer, joy, trust, certainty, or peace. We see depressing things happening around us, and we grow weary and exhausted. We waste energy worrying about what will happen, and then it never happens. Let’s learn from that redirect our energy into staying in joy, certainty, and peace.
3. Let It Go
In 1 Peter 5:7 the Bible reads, cast your care upon him for he cares for you. When I cast my sweatshirt, I’m throwing it across the room and letting go. If I don’t trust God, I pick it up and put it back on. Then I go to church, and I cast if off again. Then on Monday I pick it up and put it back on because I’m not sure what God is going to do. We need to cast our care once and for all.
Be Encouraged!
Lord, we come to you courageous. We renew our soul with your word and give you a chance to speak to us. We have faith that you will turn our challenges around for good (Romans 8:28). We are casting our care and letting go and standing firm in our certainty and embracing your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Amen!
