deal with it It’s one thing to submit to authority, it’s another to crave the approval of that authority.

I’m loyal and submissive to leaders who are strong choleric types like my Dad. I served him for 33 years. I worked hard and was so pleased when I heard a few words of approval from him. If he hadn’t died, I’d still be serving him to this day.

After he died, I thought I needed someone to tell me what to do, I was LOOKING FOR someone to tell me what to do. Someone with a strong leadership style came along and started doing that and I bent over backwards to stay in their good graces.

One day, my wife Nicole asks, “Why do you do that? Let it go! Stop looking for their approval, stop hanging with them hoping they will like you. Why are you working so hard for their acceptance?”

[We ALL need someone in our life who will speak TRUTH to us.]

I realized I had allowed the past to carry into the present. I was stepping back into the role I had with my Dad. Old mindsets SHOULD NOT carry into the future.

If you change the way you think, you’ll change the way you act so “…be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” (Romans 12:2)

STOP: Being addicted to approval and looking for affirmation!
STOP: Thinking if I sleep with him he’ll love me.
STOP: Thinking if I manipulate the numbers, they’ll approve of my performance and promote me.

LET THAT THINKING GO!

Change your thinking and you’ll CHANGE YOUR LIFE!
