Do you feel like you live in a place where no one could find you to give you an inheritance? Inheritance is not something we earn. In God’s Kingdom, he tells us to expect it. He tells us to claim it. We receive it because of what Jesus did for us, not because of anything we’ve done. God helped one man receive his inheritance, and he wants you to receive yours.

The Undeserving Mindset

Mephibosheth didn’t earn what was coming to him. The King brought Mephibosheth to his abundant table overflowing with food and then informed Mephibosheth of his real estate inheritance. Mephibosheth went from Ramen noodles to overflowing abundance in one day because the King was looking for him to put him in his right position.

Being Prepared For The Blessing

Mephibosheth had lame feet; he spent time with lame people. When he had this opportunity, they tried to hold him back out of fear of change. If he had kept his lame mentality, he wouldn’t have been able to humbly accept the King’s gift.

Get Ready!

The Bible reads, now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1). The King wants to bring someone into their right position today. He says, “I know the plans I have for you today, above all that you can think or imagine.” (Jeremiah 29:11, Ephesians 3:20) This isn’t just a history lesson about Mephibosheth; it’s about you.

Be Encouraged

Lord, we are grabbing onto what is good today. Everywhere we look, if there be any praise, any virtue, we will think on these things (Philippians 4:8). We will reset our mind and only focus on the good around us. We don’t wish for a better life; we have the backbone to say, “I know the King is coming for me! And in fact, he has. These are my banner years, and these are going to be the best years of my life!”
