FOCUS! As I develop sermon messages, I am may be interrupted by people but I may also interrupted by my thoughts. My inner me will bring up a situation that happened yesterday instead of allowing me to FOCUS. If we want success, if we want to move forward, we have to get laser focused on the future and all things GOOD!
We Must FOCUS On What God Says (As Opposed To What’s In Our Head)
We need to focus on who God says we are instead of what the system says. We cannot rely on the words of an ex-spouse/boyfriend/girlfriend, a boss, commercial, or society. If we don’t direct our focus effectively then we aren’t moving forward. What others think can cause us to come to a standstill OR to go backward. Focusing on what God says moves us forward and gets us out of the rearview mirror.
I have plans for you, to prosper you, not to harm you, to give you hope and a future! Jeremiah 29:11 paraphrased
Fuh-get About The Past
Paul said, “I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead…” Philippians 3:13
Consciously FOCUS on GOOD Things
If we FOCUS on that past hurt from 10 years ago or 1 hour ago, then all we will see is hurt. One bad experience can break our focus and keep us from being what God intends for us. The one thing we must focus on is GOOD!!!
“…acknowledging of every good thing which is in you…” Philemon 1:3
Be Encouraged!
FOCUS your thoughts on what you want to become.
Get the focus off of what you do not want to become.
Redirect your FOCUS on all things good that are in support of your goal.
Avoid thoughts about failures, fear of failure or rejection.
FOCUS on what God says and SAY what God says!

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—THINK ABOUT SUCH THINGS. Philippians 4:8
The mouth speaks what the heart is full of. Luke 6:45 (Likewise the heart is full of what we think about.)
