How often do we start things on our own that don’t go quite right or we lose steam and then we turn to God to fix what we started? We need to be humble enough to admit when something is over, or we are at the end of ourselves. God wants to know if we are going to give our endeavor to Him.
What Are We Pursuing?
Are we trying to get married, have kids, gain skills, experience, friendship, networking, financial independence, or just get out of debt? The church world often has the mindset that it’s good to be “poor but proud” and let me tell you God will help you with BOTH! It’s easy to be pessimistic about what we are pursuing when our circle of influence has a “poor” mentality.
God Is All About Abundance!
God wanted to get dollars into the rich young ruler’s hands, but he had to do a heart check on him first. God had to know that this young ruler would wisely handle the currency that God wanted to flow through his fingertips. Our mindset comes from our programming, and our programming may have come from family or society. Now it needs to come from God.
Stretch Your Thinking
God began to stretch me. You see God doesn’t take pleasure in seeing drug dealers driving Bentley’s. That type of a world model causes young kids to think they have to grow up and deal drugs or do back alley activities in order to have those types of things. Christians should be driving the best and living the best! God is trying to get something to you, but he has to get it through you first. What are you holding onto?
