We need to get into agreement with God to pave the way for him to work in our life. I’ve talked about the need to be grateful and to have faith, but we also need to align our words with God. We can think we’re on board with God’s plan to heal us, but then we say things like, “I’m never going to get better.” Words are containers of power that we release into our future. We need to align our words with the desires that God has placed in our heart, instead of saying what we SEE in our current circumstances.
Aligning Our Mouth
How many of us are snared by the words of our mouth? (Proverbs 6:2) It’s not just the things we take in (hearing, reading, watching, eating), but the things we put out, both can defile us. …Out of the mouth the heart speaks… (Luke 6:45)
Some people say things such as:
– My back goes out more than I do!
Try this instead:
– My back is strong, my memory is strong, my legs are strong.
Joshua and Caleb had their faculties at 120.
Abraham and Sarah were starting a family at close to 100 years old.
To the world this way of thinking and speaking is a weird approach, but not according to the bible. Nine lepers went back to the world, but one returned to Jesus thankful (Luke 17:11-19). He didn’t want to go back to the world’s ways. He wanted to keep the culture of gratefulness.
Let’s Agree With God
Say the following with me:
God I promise you from this point forward that I will make a slow change to be careful what goes in or out of my mouth. I will say thank you Lord that I am healed. I know that only Jesus can heal me and that since God manufactured me, he can repair me. I will listen to my heart, the word and my pastor and will stop eating and drinking things that are making me unhealthy and sick.
AMEN!
