Pastor David Crank - Imbalance Makes You Vulnerable
It’s Monday. Is there any chance that you woke up today dreading this week because it looks OVERWHELMING?

So if I ask, “Are you balanced?” I’m guessing you might give me a resounding, “NO!”

My friend, YOU ARE NOT ALONE.

We fill our schedules with activities until they are bursting at the seams. Then we have the additional social pressures that cause us to think we NEED to fill every time slot.

If we listened to the bible instead of society, we would find that it says:

Be well-balanced (temperate, sober of mind), be vigilant and cautious at all times; for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring [fierce in hunger], seeking someone to seize upon and devour. (1 Peter 5:8 AMP)

Are you avoiding problems by being too busy? The inner-me (enemy) likes to stay blissfully in denial until the last minute when everything explodes. Living a “busy” life puts us in a vulnerable position. We are often too busy to realize what’s happening and then all of a sudden our life falls apart… because we were busy and unbalanced.

The bible says, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come THAT THEY MAY HAVE LIFE, and have it TO THE FULL.” (John 10:10 NIV)

Jesus wants you to KNOW HIS PEACE. He wants you to ENJOY YOUR LIFE. You make your schedule, YOU can change your schedule, and God will give you the peace.

Consider evaluating your priorities to see if there are things which can be spread out over time. Try to avoid SACRIFICING WHAT IS REALLY IMPORTANT IN THE LONG RUN, for what appears immediate now.
