SHARE THIS POSTMy wife, Nicole, is really smart! She has so many degrees we could call her Dr. Fahrenheit. She’s AWESOME!
On the other hand, I have a different educational background. I was homeschooled. I’m more intuitive. I just KNOW where we need to be or what we need to do.
Nicole and I, don’t really fight about “us”.
When we do disagree, it’s usually about the church. She’s got STRONG opinions and I’ve got STRONG opinions. So there’s a tension there that has to be managed.
Because, if you butt heads at work and then go home… the arguments just come home with you. And wives WILL remember that, “In the meeting, at 2:23 PM, you said this, and this, and this!”
Not too long ago, we were debating a particular issue. (I knew I was right!) Days later, I was vindicated, so my PRIDE fired up!
“I think this would be a good time to remind Nicole that she and the staff should listen to me MORE!”
The Holy Spirit spoke up. “DON’T DO THAT! It’ll just cause extra tension. She doesn’t need it and you don’t either!
Listen to that Still Small Voice and know when it’s time to “SHUTTY”!
The Holy Spirit can save us from our own stupid pride, teach us to walk in humility and LOVE, and ultimately keep us from having to sleep on the couch! Lol
