Learning to say no is a game changer!
The chances are you’re like me you have trouble telling people no.
On more than one occasion, I’ve become massively stressed out and on my way to burn-out due to the fact that I choose not to say no. Why? Because I’m a people pleaser.
If you want to try to burn yourself out very quickly, just try to do everything everyone else wants you to do.
Consider Jesus’ life. The bulk of his impact was during the last 3 years of his life. He packed a LOT into those three years. He did NOT do that by doing what everyone around him wanted him to do. He followed his calling, He did as he was led, He stayed focused on the big picture, while still caring for those around him.
The more your career takes off, the more successful you become, the more opportunities you will have to do things that will take you off course and wear you out.
It is imperative that you allow enough “No’s” in each day to enable yourself to continue to say “Yes” to the main thing that got you where you are in the first place.
1. Keep the main thing the main thing.
2. Stay focused.
3. Just say no – so you can be freed up to say yes to what matters.
