Do you ever wish that you had a talking mirror that would say, “Hey, YOU HAVE GOT IT GOING ON! You will turn heads everywhere you go!” While it would be really cool to have a mirror like that, as soon as we walk away, we would forget.
When we look at ourselves, we only see our body, but that is not WHO we are, it is only our outer shell. There is a lot that goes on inside of us that cannot be seen by the naked eye. We have thoughts, feelings, imaginations, desires, and issues that reside deep inside. Much of WHO WE ARE CANNOT BE SEEN WITH A MIRROR.
But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible… which is in the sight of God of great price. (1 Peter 3:4)
In, 1 Peter, it says there is a hidden man of the heart. Many times I have internal issues that cause me to behave in ways that I am not happy with. It’s so important for us to look at the Word of God as a mirror and allow it to reflect what God has said about us.
This in turn, will even change our outer appearance in the mirror. When we see ourselves on the inside as God sees us, it radiates to the outside and makes us better looking! Personally, I find that I’m much better looking IN God than when I’m distanced from Him.
Have you ever noticed that about yourself?
