Satan becomes active in our life when he see’s that we are about to take ownership of our God-given destiny. He begins to try to abort the plan of God from behind the scenes. At the rate of speed that God is growing our church, the examples of Satan’s attempted attacks are numerous. There are just as many testimonies of individuals who have been reached by God after we broke through. The rewards are GREAT when we stay in the fight.
Disappointing Setbacks are Setups for Comebacks.
When God told us to start the church in Palm Beach, Florida, in addition to the church that we already have in St Louis, Missouri, problems began to crop up regularly. Our hopes were shattered when the first TV network we approached turned us down. We were praising God when the second network accepted our offer. Within weeks, the ratings were so good that the first network felt like they had made a mistake and decided to go ahead and put us on their network as well. With God ALL things are possible!
We don’t know the score while we’re in the middle of the fight.
I didn’t realize at the time that tens of thousands of down and out people were watching the program each week. Due to that, I’m fighting hell to pay the bills, taking new territory and the enemy is just causing all kinds of trouble.
Our closed-captioning did not work until the last minute before one of our most anointed programs was to go on the air. The network was telling us they wouldn’t be able to air it, and we PRAYED it right down to the wire! Satan tried to thwart God’s efforts and failed.
Many times we pray, the enemy loses, and we take territory, but the GREATEST trial we experience is because God has placed a destiny on our life that is tied to somebody else.
The enemy knows our destiny is tied to someone else.
TV network struggles: One man shared with me that the only thing that kept him going during the two months he was in the hospital was the practical teaching that we gave him every week on TV. He said, “I had to come out to the first church service just to hug you!”
Billboard funding struggles: One man shared that his wife had left him, he was depressed, and suicidal. He’d had too much to drink, was driving, and passed one of our billboards. He kept driving, but after a mile or two, he turned around, came back and got the website address. He got online, listened to all of our sermons and got saved.
When we take on our God-given assignments, the enemy doesn’t take it lying down.
After seeing how many lives we’ve affected, by the hundreds of testimonies that people have shared with us, I am so glad that we broke through! Now that we are in place, the resources are there, the people are there, and the opportunity is fantastic because we didn’t let Satan take hold of our destiny.
I want to encourage you today to understand that Satan becomes really active in our life when he see’s that we are about to follow God’s instructions. There is something in your heart today that God is asking you to do.
