No Risk. No Reward.

As a 10-year-old boy who played Pac-Man, to me the game represented people and as I earned points, I’d feel good because I helped 16000 people. This was my thinking as a kid. So over the years, as a person who has been stepping out in faith to do something great for God, it has been my dream to help people. It keeps me up at night and drives me to help change people’s lives.

Living In A Dream, Until The Dream Becomes Reality

Cast your bread upon the water, for you will find it after many days. (Ecclesiastes 11:1)

I was living my dream even though I wasn’t awake yet. Then as a man, I cast my bread upon the water and shared my dream with others. I was trying to figure out how to give God, not only my life, but my talent, treasure and resources.

Then I had a big break, I was pastoring, and the church exploded. God continued to push me and tell me, “I’m not done with you, I want to do something greater with your life.”

Are We Too Focused On Temporary Circumstances Or Driving Towards Long Term Rewards?

He who observes the wind will not sow, and he who regards the clouds will not reap. (Ecclesiastes 11:4)

How many of us sit and read the paper, or watch the news or “look at the clouds” and think about how many obstacles there are out in the world. We get focused on removing the obstacles instead of pursuing our dreams. We say we will wait until the kids grow up, or we will wait until we get the debt paid down. Remember the bible says if we observe the winds, we will not sow and therefore we will not reap.

It’s Easier To Take Risks When You Love What You Do Which Drives You To Sow Big

The big risk-takers get the big rewards because they sow big. They do what they are good at; they do what they know, and they do what they love. By casting their bread upon the water, they will reap. But like many people, if we observe the wind and choose to wait until it gets better or to wait until we get married to get happy, then we will not reap.

The only way we will ever reap is if we take the risk.

No risk, no reward.
