Have you ever prayed for someone and wondered what God was doing because that person got worse in their behavior? We don’t realize that God is working on that person and there is an internal struggle. The point is that internal stuff comes out in our external behavior. This is why we should never judge a book by its cover. We need to love each other where we are NOW and start reading each person’s story. God knows each of our stories and He has a plan to work it out. Check out the one below!

Bound By Drugs 16 Years And SET FREE!!!

“And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:32

I met a guy after a service one day who is about 6’5 and a real nice looking guy. He walked up to me and he said, “Hey man, those are my kids,” as he pointed toward the Upwards field. He said, “I had been bound by drugs for 16 years, and I never went to any of my kids’ games or did anything productive with them even though I love them.”

God Is Pointing A Finger For Us To Come To Him…Not In Accusation

Basically, he was saying that there was something internal happening and he had to stay drugged to deal with it. He said, “I turned on the television and there you were and you looked right at me and said, “Hey, you might even be high right now, but God is not pointing the finger at you this way, he is pointing the finger at you this way…”

God Changes Us From The Inside Out

And then He explained, “I just started crying and I dropped to my knees; that was last November and I have not done drugs since then. God has set me free, and now I am enjoying life with my family because something changed on the inside.”

How Many Of Us Have An Internal Struggle That We Can’t Seem To Overcome?

In 2 Corinthians 10:4-5, it reads, “The weapons of our warfare are not physical but they’re mighty through God…. Bring every thought into captivity and to the obedience of God.”

The weapons of our warfare are not carnal. This war is spiritual and it’s internal. We need to say, “I’m not who I once was, I am now free for he who the Son has set free is free indeed and I have knowledge which is power that God loves me and I’m letting the past go.”

We Can’t Allow Our Struggle To Keep Us From Jesus

God wants to put a ring on our finger and a robe on our back. (Luke 10:19, 15:22 and Isaiah 61:10)

Don’t allow your internal struggle or shame to keep you from Jesus. I’d like to encourage you today to let Him in to help you where you are right now. He’ll change you from the inside out and it starts with you allowing Him to love you. Will you do that today?
