Find other people who have defeated the odds and have moved past an extreme difficulty. I mean, watch little kids with no legs playing basketball, for instance. One guy I saw the other day on TV was swimming in a pool with no arms and no legs. His testimony – he was a Christ-follower who had set it in his heart never to have the “moan-ies.” Instead, he takes time to share around the world what God has done in and for his life. In other words, he shifted into God’s favor.
Expect to move through the difficulty – your “valley of the shadow of death” (Psalms 23:4) – faster than you thought. If you’re expecting, “Well, it’s going to take me forty years to get over it,” that’s the wrong attitude. You’ve got to recognize the power that is under your hood, that God is in you, and He who is in you is greater than He who is in the world (1 John 4:4).
And for those who might be reading these words apart from a personal relationship with Christ, let me encourage you to ask Him into your heart. I’m not talking about joining a church, that’s nice and all, but I’m talking about a personal relationship with Jesus. Then, all of a sudden, you have this incredible horsepower that you can tap into. You get traction and you are thrust forward.
Isaiah 43:19 reads, “Behold I will do a new thing. It will spring forth. You’re not even going to know it. I will make a way in the wilderness.” He said, “I’m going to bring you rivers in the desert. Behold, I’m going to do a surprising, unexpected thing in your life.”
Grab onto it! God is about to do something abundant in your life. Maybe he sent you to my blog today to help shift you into the next gear and to make you realize that this next level of your life is going be greater than the past level.
