Sometimes it can feel like everyone and everything is against us. It’s even more pronounced when we feel like we don’t have anyone to turn to. We might act tough and push people away acting as if we don’t have mud on us and we don’t need help getting cleaned up or unstuck.
Denial Is Not Just A River In Egypt
The young or ill-advised person might put up a front, not wanting to allow others to see that they have adversity in their life. We’ve all been in a rut. And for us to pretend that the person next to us is not in a rut or has not been in the rut that we’ve been in is a lie.
The Enemy’s Tactics
The enemy tries to single us out, to cull us from the herd, and to attack us when we’re alone. He wants to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). One of the things that I think is great about groups such as Celebrate Recovery and Alcoholics Anonymous is that they are all about connection. The local church is all about connection too. There’s power in gathering together with other Believers, so if we aren’t plugged in, we shouldn’t stay away for long (Hebrews 10:25).
God Brings Everything Full Circle
The enemy wants to knock us out, and our pride can cause us to create walls of defense to keep others out, but we serve a loving God, who wants good things for us. He causes all thing to work together for our good (Romans 8:28), and all good things come from him (James 1:17). Get plugged in with a Bible-teaching church, attend a bible study, or iConnect group and open yourself up to a whole new world of possibilities. Because with God all things are possible! (Matthew 19:26)
