Imagine a bunch of guys who were on a boat and out in deep water, when a storm blew through. The waters got so rough that they began to throw their things overboard in order to lighten the boat. After a time, they began to think this storm blew in because of one of them. They cast lots to decide who it was and it fell to Jonah. This guy was seriously out of the will of God and was blatantly doing the exact opposite of what God told him to do. So the guys on the boat threw Jonah overboard and God used a big fish to teach a man a lesson in obedience.

Nicole Had An Encounter With Some Sharks

Nicole used to work very successfully in sales. She reeled in the big clients. She arranged for some to fly into town to play golf and set that hook. Nicole was pushed into sharing the info about her clients and this deal with the other guys in the office. When the day rolled around for the big meeting, Nicole found out the guys in the office had changed it to the previous day and had stolen her client. She was crying over being outwitted and I was crying over losing that commission check. We had glimpsed success and it was gone… Or was it?

Set That Hook And Try Again!

Nicole and I prayed for God to give her extraordinary favor to snag another account. I told her, “Nicole, you’re as good as everyone there!” She decided, “I will NOT go down like this.” You see, people can steal your recipe but they can’t bake your cake. Nicole decided that they weren’t going to steal her bait. She had emails and other proof that this was her client and she DID get a commission check for that deal. She didn’t cry that it was a boys club. She fought back.

Who Is On Your Boat? It Makes A Difference

While on the boat filming “Reel It In” I knew I was in the safety of a great captain. We had life preservers, everything was safe. Other things to check on our own boat is to ensure that (1) God is on the boat, (2) others on our boat are serving God and (3) there are no negative thinkers. So often we don’t realize how close we are to pulling this thing from the unseen to the seen world. There is a fish out there for us. Remember, we may not feel anything pulling on the line anymore, it might feel like that one got away, but be patient, one more tug and IT’S HOOKED! Are you ready to go fishing?

Join us locally or through our online campus this weekend for Week 2 of

Reel It In!
