The Best Is At The Bottom!

Did you play with Playdoh as a little kid? I used to love playing with Playdoh. It was one of my favorite things, but my younger brother would leave the lid off causing it to dry out. It’s amazing how STIFF AND DIFFICULT it is to mold Playdoh when it becomes DRIED OUT.

That’s the way we are sometimes. We’re all lumps of clay formed out of the ground of God and we need to stay pliable through hydration.

How do we do that?

“By the washing of water through the word…” (Ephesians 5:26)

In Psalms 40:2, it says, “He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.”

Essentially WE’VE ALL COME OUT OF A PIT, but then we get dry which causes us to be BRITTLE and then we get dropped and BROKEN and we start thinking that OUR BEST DAYS ARE BEHIND US.

I recently read that in Palestine they have some of the finest clay pits in the world. The BEST CLAY comes out of the very BOTTOM OF THE PIT.

It sounds like a lot of us who were deep in the pit of life when God reached down and pulled us up. He keeps us moist through His Word. “…I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts.” (Revelation 21:6)
