I grew up with bologna that didn’t have a first name, and our Cheerios were just O’s. We put a few dollars in the gas tank, and we often had to put items back at the grocery store. Back then the checks didn’t clear for a few days, and we took a lot of chances. We always hoped to deposit more money before the checks cleared.
Generational Mindsets
We often inherit mindsets. My Grandpa grew up during the Great Depression, he taught my Dad, and my Dad taught me. God showed me that my thinking was too small. It had become a blessing blocker and was holding me back.
We Are The King’s Kids
We have a desire to live like kings because we are the King’s kids. People will try to create the look of prosperity, but it is a false prosperity where they are barely keeping their heads above water while swimming in a lake of debt. Many people have not discovered their rights and privileges are a Believer and instead of doing it God’s way they try to make it happen on their own.
It’s Not A Magic Formula
- Realize God takes pleasure in the prosperity of his children.
- Come to God humbly, leaving all pride behind, refuse to give up, and ask for mercy
- Like the Canaanite woman in Matthew 15
- Stop worrying about what people think
- We must admit where we have caused our problems by not handling our money according to God’s word
- Unlock the richness of his treasures
You Are On Your Way
God doesn’t mind when we have things; he doesn’t like it when things have us. As His kids, we need to realize that God has a system in place to bless us, but it is according to his ways, not our own. Please know that as you take these steps to change your thinking and include God in your finances, you are starting down the path toward financial freedom.
