The manna test was to save only the amount God directed, only enough for each day. Then God told them to save extra to have enough for the Sabbath so they could honor him. Some obeyed, some disobeyed. The point is that when we obey God he provides for our needs AND he provides enough extra for us to honor him. The tests help us to get on track in obedience.

Trusting The Supply

God wants to reframe our thinking and get us out of manna mentality (having everything handed to us) and start thinking like a Canaan Christian (being a sower). If we can be a dollar behind, we can be a dollar ahead. Our little church began putting away 10% in the bank. In time, the church reached $1 million dollars in savings. We were never fearful of snowstorms; we held church no matter what.

Trusting The Supplier

Then God led us to buy the biggest bar in Missouri and turn it into a church. He had us use the one million dollars as a down payment for a multi-million dollar loan. I no longer had the comfort of trusting in the supply, the one million dollars. I had to get back to trusting the supplier. I couldn’t have stepped out in faith if God hadn’t broken my low-level thinking.

Be Encouraged

The devil will wear you out, but if you get up one more time than he knocks you down – you’re winning. God gives you information that gives the power to keep your train on the track. When the manna seems to run out, God will provide.

But my God shall supply all your need…( ALL YOUR NEED…) according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19)

Rejoice in the Lord always… (ALWAYS…) and again I say, Rejoice. (AGAIN and AGAIN, REJOICE!) (Philippians 4:4) Amen!
