If we look at the photo depicted in this blog, we see two people diving head first and one diving feet first. Who do you think will go further faster? Obviously two had their head committed to the task at hand, while the third decided to be more conservative. Everything starts in our head. There’s reason the battlefield is in the mind. It’s no accident that we come into this world head first. We have to get our head in the game before we can win the game.
Are We Being Stretched?
God wants to birth something in our life. He wants to bring something new into it. He wants to stretch us for greater things. He has to maneuver our thinking around so that we are not thinking like the world. When we think like the world we confine God to what we see in the world around us.
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. (Romans 12:2)
As A Man Thinks In His Heart So Is He… (Proverbs 23:7)
We have to get back to the root of who God created us to be, it is in us by instinct. We can lie about a seed and sell it as something else, but when it is planted, whatever is in its DNA is what it is going to be produced. Apple seeds create apples. An apple is the foundation of some great things like apple cobbler, apple butter, apple strudel, but never tuna salad. (Mmmm, are you hungry yet?) Yet orange seeds are great, but they will never produce apples. It’s not in their DNA.
We Cannot Keep Trying To Produce (Or Be) What We Are Not
I am not Joel Osteen who God gifted with a special approach that reaches thousands of people. God gave me a unique, creative, funny way of engaging people and sharing His message and if I try to be anything else, I will fail. I’ve watched truck drivers try got preachers and preachers try to be farmers. There is a seed in our heart that is nudging us and urging us to do what we are supposed to do.
Beyond The Peeling Of The Pain, At Our Core, Is The Seed Of Who God Called Us To Be
There is no devil in hell that can stop us from doing what God has called us to do. Nothing but our fear can stop us from fulfilling our God given purpose. God has placed a seed of a dream in each of us. Do you have the courage to let it out? Be the best YOU that God created you to be, don’t be a carbon copy. God likes diversity. Don’t rob Him of the gift of what He created uniquely in YOU!
