Life has difficulties that we often reference as mountaintops and valleys. We need to be careful what we say and how we act while in the valley of life. The often missing ingredient to positive thinking is positive speaking. We will never get to the mountaintop of life if we are always cursing the word or our situation.
God Saw, And He Said, But He Didn’t Say What He Saw
In Genesis 1, it reads that God saw darkness and said let there be light. He saw one thing but spoke what he wanted to see, and it happened. God cannot lie. If he says it will happen, then it will happen. He is no respecter of persons. If he said it would happen for our ancestors, then it can happen for us.
Our Destination Is A Result Of Our Words
The first overseas flight took 30 hours from New York to France. Imagine 30 hours awake in an airplane by yourself and how easy it would be to let the voices creep in as you get more tired and more vulnerable, “You-can’t-do-this.” As this man flew low using ground features as navigational points of reference, people would point at him and yell. He couldn’t hear them, but he knew what they were saying, so he kept yelling over and over, “I’m going to Paris, France! I’m going to Paris, France!” He said this over and over so many times there was no room for doubt to occur because he just kept saying where he was going.
Be Encouraged!
Lord, help us to say where we are going. Remove out focus from where we are and what we see and redirect it to what you have for our future. Help us to set a laser-focus on this goal you’ve placed in our heart. We will follow your example and speak what is not, that thing that we want, but that we do not yet see, that destination or that goal. We will say it until we see it! AMEN!
