God blesses us yet we continue to want more and more. David had been blessed with much yet he still had to go take what was NOT his to take. He took another man’s wife. (2 Samuel 11:4) It looked like David got away with it, but he didn’t. There are always long term consequences for our actions. God was not pleased with what David had done and sometimes we need someone to say, “Hey, you better stop that right now!”
We Can’t Keep Doing What We’re Doing And Also Do What God Called Us To Do
We have to stop making excuses. Submit to God and stay with the same woman and honor her with a commitment. We are called to be kings, yet we continue to act like kids. A child acts based on what they feel, but as adults we are to do our part whether we feel like it or not. We need to give him time first thing in the morning. We need to get in sync with God.
Why Do We Wait?
Why do we wait to get in harmony right before we leave a job? Why do we get along better with a spouse after the divorce? Why do we fix up a house right before we sell it? If we put more effort into making things right instead of walking away, we might enjoy the opportunities before us. Everything in front of us is an opportunity.
Be Encouraged!
Lord, we thank you for what you’ve provided in our lives. You provide for our needs, and you provide opportunities. We choose to embrace what’s in front of us and look to you for more instead of taking what is not ours to take. We are aligning our mindset with your way of thinking, and we are in agreement with you. Thank you, Jesus, for walking this out with us daily! Amen!
