As we look at the world around us, we can’t help but notice that we have too much. Too much air, too much ocean, too much land, God doesn’t give just enough. Man has not completely explored the entire earth. There are portions of the land that man has never stepped foot in, and there are parts of the ocean man has never seen. God does things in excess. If we don’t like prosperity, if we have something against it, then we won’t like heaven and we can’t comprehend how God wants to bless us.

God Is Into Excellence

We pave our parking lots with asphalt. Other people might use stamped or aggregated concrete. In heaven, the parking lot is paved with gold. The gate to heaven isn’t made out of pieces of pearl; it is made out of one pearl. God’s touch is one of elegance, and his style is one of excellence. If we have a wrong relationship with money or think that money and blessings are bad, then WE are our problem. God has no problem with us having money; he has a problem with money having us.

God’s Generosity

A stingy planter gets a stingy crop. A lavish planter gets a lavish crop. (2 Corinthians 9:6)

The generous man will be prosperous, and he who waters will himself be watered. (Prov 11:25)

And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others. (2 Corinthians 9:8)

God’s Example

Everything God does is in excess. He sets the example and wants to bless us above and beyond anything we can hope or imagine (Ephesians 3:20). The next time God nudges you to bless someone. Be obedient and do it quickly. That person might have been waiting for SOMEONE to obey God so that they could get their breakthrough. God doesn’t give just enough; we shouldn’t either. Embrace God’s example of giving in excess.
