Are You Carrying A Burden That Is Not Yours To Carry?

When our church began growing (think about your family or business), I had to adapt. I took down pictures of what used to be. I painted the walls black. I went on TV and didn’t ask for money. The church bought one campus and then another. I would wake up in the middle of the night thinking; I need money, and I don’t know what to do! But then I would switch it up and think, no, I don’t have a problem. God, you have a problem. It’s your parking lot that needs to be paved and your house that needs electricity. We have to give God what is His and He wants to carry the burden for us.

I Can’t Talk To You About Your Problems, But I Can Share My Own!

I can’t talk to you about the things you’re going through because I haven’t been through those things. But I did some shopping online and found that people or cookware that come under pressure, such as pressure cookers are all very similar. They go through similar things; they all have a little thingy on top; many are steel; some are bigger, some smaller, and they vary in price, but they all experience pressure.

We All Need A Dose Of The Truth

Make sure you’re in a church that speaks truth like Paul.

“He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us again.” (2 Corinthians 1:10)

Troubles can develop passionate patience. (Romans 5:3 paraphrased)

Sometimes I’ll just let the pressure off of myself by reminding myself that others can do it. Things will carry on if I don’t preach or if people don’t come back next week. God can supply the need. God can buy the building. God can pave the parking lot. I’m not trying to sell you something I’m not smoking. Paul said, “I’ve been here before and God WILL do it again!”
