SHARE THIS POSTOne night, we went out to eat with a friend in Palm Beach. He told me that, recently, someone had broken into his house and stolen a VERY EXPENSIVE ring!
He asked his wife if she wanted to replace it and she said, “no”. She really didn’t feel like she needed to impress anybody.
My friends had the benefit of looking back over a long life to learn something about possessions. That stuff just didn’t matter to them, anymore.
So, now they’ve got the benefit of all that insurance money just sitting in the bank. Plus, they don’t have to pay the high premiums just to ensure it.
We chase a lot of stupid stuff, thinking that’s what we need. But, what we really need, is the WISDOM that comes from God!
Don’t bother chasing the “bling”! Wisdom is BETTER than rubies. And NO thing we desire can compare! (Proverbs 8:11)
Be thankful for what you have: HEALTH, FAMILY, and GOOD FRIENDS! Live a happy life within your means.
And don’t go buying a big expensive ring that you’ll have to pay thousands to insure. Just go get that FAKE DIAMOND from Claire’s and rock that bad boy with so much class that people THINK it’s real!
