Be well balanced, temperate and sober-minded (1 Peter 5:8). The opposite of being a road-rage-intoxicated driver thinking everyone is a bad driver but YOU. All of us good drivers meet on the road every day thinking every other one of us is a bad driver. Someone flew past me the other day driving like I typically do and I thought, “That moron is going to kill somebody.” However, when I do it, I’m just driving, but when they do it, they’re a moron. (Does this sound messed up to anyone else?)
How To Be Vigilant
Be vigilant, cautious at all times, [while driving, at work, at home,] for that enemy of yours, the devil is prowling about seeking whom he may devour. (1 Peter 5:8) We need to be vigilant. We engage actively to keep him from devouring our marriage or mind. We stay aware that he is prowling. We don’t allow him to get the best of us by getting road rage or snapping at our spouse.
How To Let It Go
We focus on the good things in others instead of the negative. We focus on what we have instead of what we do not. We are forgiven (and we will act like it) by forgiving others. We are blessed and because of these things we are going to let it drop, correct? No, instead of doing the previous these things a bunch of us are just going to continue about our day all stressed out. However, there is an option, and that is to get a piece of peace.
The Prince Of Peace Is On The Inside Of Us
Isaiah 9:6 reads, For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. It doesn’t say, Prince of Stress, Prince of Anxiety, and the Prince of what? PEACE! He doesn’t have peace; He IS peace. We need to get our piece of peace. The only way to do that is to demote ourselves, elevate God, forgive others (willingly release them from any wrongdoing) and live our lives just chillin’. Are you with me today? And the people said in agreement, “AMEN!”
I call you BLESSED!
