SHARE THIS POSTWhen I was a little boy, my grandmother pulled me aside. She said she wanted to tell me something very important.
She said, “The Hand of God is upon you, David. God is gonna use you! But there’s a target on your back. The devil wants to kill you!”
Grandma explained that if the devil couldn’t get to me here, he’d try to get to me there. He’d sneak in one-of-three ways using the three “G’s”: the GLORY, the GOLD, or the GIRLS.
Back when I first took over the ministry from my dad, I remember the Lord said this to me about His pastors.
“I’m tired of raising them up and having the world MESS them up!”
Over the years, I’ve seen it happen many times, as great ministries have crumbled. Every day we have to focus on what really matters: helping build the Kingdom of God on Earth.
Grandma’s advice is even MORE relevant, today!
Never touch the gold because that belongs to the Lord. In everything you do, give God ALL the glory…that’s His, too!
And, as Grandma always said, “David, you stay away from those girls!”
