Back before we were pastors, Nicole and I were fixing up this house out in the country. I found this expensive $1500 kitchen stove for sale for just $500.
We loaded it in the back of in my white Ford truck and tied it down so it was safe.
I was going about 60 when this big semi overtook us. When he blew past us, all of a sudden, this big vacuum of air LIFTED OFF one of the burners … and I watched it fly away! (Oh NO!!!)
I knew those burners cost about $100 apiece to replace. I saw one burner fly away and thought, “There goes $100! And there goes $200!”
I wanted to cuss the semi driver out, but the Holy Spirit said, “Count it all JOY!”
Burner one…GONE! Count it joy! Burner two, three, and four… JOY…JOY…JOY!
Well, we installed the stove, anyway. A few days later, a contractor working at the house told us he had a stove, like ours, to sell for $25. The oven was shot but all the burners worked fine.
SOLD!!!
Maybe your joy has been under attack, lately. The enemy knows, if he can steal your joy then he can sap your strength. Make the decision to count it joy, even when it doesn’t LOOK LIKE things are working out.
The HAPPIEST people on earth ought to be God’s people!
He’s always behind the scenes, working things for our good, making stuff happen in the invisible that is not visible to us, YET! Hang on to your joy and watch as God’s FAVOR kicks in!
Have a great day, today! I call you BLESSED!
It’s amazing how God works when we ask the “Now what are we going to do” question. He already has the play drawn up for the comeback game plan. Makes me wanna sing, “I got the joy joy joy joy down in my heart…..”
I just had foot surgery on my left foot and my pain is great but after reading your message and being reminded of how blessed I am I forgot about the pain that I was feeling and yes it also brought a little humor to me. Thank Ufor sharing.
Thank you so much for your daily messages in my emails – they are always uplifting and speak to my heart. God bless you!
