I’ve been asked if I’m giving people a license to sin. People sin whether they have a license or not. I give them a license to be free in Jesus Christ. The enemy and inner-me bombards our soul in an attempt to make us feel unworthy. We don’t get what we deserve. We get what he deserved when he died on the Cross and paid for our sins.

Confidence In God’s Love For Us

When we KNOW that we are the one God loves, we have the confidence to overcome when the tempter comes. If we are works-based, we’ll say, “He loves me, he loves me not.” When we are SURE of God’s love for us, when we sin, and we WILL, we will run TO Jesus instead of running away from him. We ask for and receive his forgiveness, and he makes us whole.

Our Boneheaded Moves Make God Look Good

For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. (Romans 8:5) Jesus didn’t need Peter’s help in the Garden of Gethsemane. Peter was like, “I’ve got this.” We do the same thing. We say, “Jesus, look, I did this, and this, and this.” And Jesus is thinking that there are twenty-seven other boneheaded things that we don’t even realize that we’ve done. God makes masterpieces of our messes and turns our tests into testimonies

Getting Recharged

Sometimes I forget to charge my iPhone. So I slide it into a charging device (called a Mophie) and just as the Holy Spirit does for us, my iPhone springs back to life. It’s an aid to give me power and to get me back into action. I don’t care where you come from; I just care where you’re going.

Be Encouraged!

Jesus is our Source. Get plugged in to him. Repent and RECEIVE his forgiveness, and then forgive yourself. Stop labeling and condemning and start embracing the NEW LIFE, the LOVE and FREEDOM Christ has for you today! Amen! (And you don’t even need a license.)
